Dear Northwest Brownsville Neighbors,
Please help us to insure that our elected officials turn the former Union Pacific West Rail line into a "Hike and Bike" trail. How can you help? Get involved in our efforts by emailing us at: [email protected] .
We will be posting below soon information about our gatherings and how you can contact our elected city and county officials. Help us to build a beautiful Brownsville!
See you soon,
Green Club Verde Team
Town Hall Meeting to discuss a Hike and Bike Trail on the old Union Pacific RR line in West Brownsville:
Nov 16 at 5:30 pm at Yturria Elementary on Alton Gloor
Please attend and let your voice be heard about the construction of an 8-mile Hike and Bike Trail, rather than another road and strip mall that leads to pollution, noise, and without a doubt a greater possibility of flooding during storms. (Note: This last statement is supported by research from an article in the "Atlantic" magazine about Harvey and the flooding in Houston. See: https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2017/08/why-cities-flood/538251/)
See article in the Collegian about our club's previous activities, April 2013.
